On August 11, 2017, University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS) held National Scientific Symposium for Graduate Students for the first time (GRS 2017) with a view to promoting research work among these students, creating a forum for academic exchanging which helps students have more opportunities to approach recent issues in language studying and prepare well for their learning process.

This was also the first forum for graduate students in Viet Nam.

Almost 70 reports of graduate and post-graduate students from 16 universities nationwide were published in the Yearbook. Those reports can be recapitulated in two words: diversity in subjects and authors of the research, and innovation in different approaches and achievements, which made the quality of the seminar highly evaluated. It was also considered helpful and successful by a large number of teaching and researching staff, as well as graduate and post-graduate students nationwide.
