5th International Graduate Research Symposium
On October 30th, 2021, ULIS-VNU held the 5th International Graduate Research Symposium for graduate students and doctoral students in 2021.
Taking place on an online platform, this symposium is organized to create an opportunity to develop a scientific environment and present research results to graduate students and Ph.D. students.
Delivering his speech at the opening ceremony, Vice President Lam Quang Dong believed that the symposium would continue its tradition and created a forum for graduate students and PhD students to share, exchange and discuss research, and at the same time receive comments and suggestions to improve the quality of research in future works and develop the academic community.
On behalf of VNU, Director of Science and Technology Department Vu Van Tich affirmed that developing an international graduate academic environment is one of VNU’s focused tasks.
The 5th IGRS (International Graduate Research Symposium) is dedicated to graduate students and PhD students, which focuses on educational topics, linguistics and other fields such as international studies, languages and literatures, social culture, intercultural communication and translation studies, etc.
In the plenary session, 3 keynote speakers, Prof. Curtis Kelly (Kansai University, Japan), Prof. Michael Phillips (Monash University, Australia), Dr. Raqib Chowdhury (Monash University, Australia) presented their papers.
At the symposium, 110 papers and 1 seminar were held in 12 parallel sessions. Each paper is a new perspective, a new research data brought by presenter.
The University also organized two online pre-conferences and one post-conference for students and researchers to take part in.
This year symposium was a great success, and it drew the participation of more than 528 people.
